Scirpus tabernaemontani 'Zebrinus' (Marginal Aquatic)

Stiff, cylindrical stems stand erect, commanding attention with their cream and green banding.  The unique striped stems of Scirpus tabernaemontani ‘Zebrinus’ add vertical interest and contemporary style to ponds and water features. Shorter and less vigorous than ‘Albescens’, Scirpus tabernaemontani ‘Zebrinus’ offers bold, architectural flair without being invasive, making it well suited to smaller ponds. Small, brownish flower spikes are borne at the stem tips from June to September, adding subtle texture. As well as visual interest, it also provides valuable habitats for aquatic wildlife and improves pond water quality. Water depth: 0-30cm. Ultimate height and spread: 60-90cm (35in).
