Mimulus luteus, commonly known for its extended blooming period compared to many other aquatic plants, is cherished for its vibrant display of bright yellow trumpet-shaped flowers adorned with striking red or purple spots. This stunning floral spectacle typically occurs from May through August, making it a delightful addition to any garden. Originating from South America, this plant flourishes in moist, bog-like environments, making it particularly well-suited for pond margins, wetland gardens, or damp borders. Its ability to self-seed allows it to form lush, spreading colonies, enhancing the natural beauty of its surroundings. The foliage of Mimulus luteus consists of small, oval-shaped green leaves that create dense, bushy mounds, effectively softening and camouflaging the edges of ponds. This not only adds an aesthetic appeal but also provides essential habitat for various wildlife. The eye-catching flowers serve as a vital food source for pollinators, contributing to the overall health of the ecosystem. By incorporating this plant into your landscape, you not only enhance its visual charm but also support local biodiversity, making it a wonderful choice for environmentally conscious gardeners.Water depth: 0-5cm. Height and spread: 60cm.
