Differing from the concentric star-like rosettes, ?Praying Hands? bears deep green, scale-like leaves which curl upwards to look like an artichoke. Each leaf tip is decorated with a striking, deep red spine. Mangaves are an eye-catching architectural plant that are hybrids of Manfreda and Agave- bringing together the best qualities of each variety. Mangaves are hardier than most agaves and can be grown outside all year round in areas with very mild winters such as coastal and city gardens, but like most tender perennials, will otherwise need to be brought into a frost-free greenhouse or conservatory over winter.
