Leptospermum lanigerum ?Silver Sheen? forms a slender, upright shrub with softly hairy silver-grey leaves set against reddish stems. Then from late spring to summer it bursts into a cloud of long-lasting white flowers that hum with pollinators. RHS Award of Garden Merit status highlights its garden-worthy reliability, whilst its aromatic leaves make it especially striking in sunny, sheltered spots where all-year-round foliage texture and colour matters as much as flowers.Thriving in freely drained soil and a sheltered position, Leptospermum is particularly well suited to mild or coastal areas of the UK. Ideal for gravel gardens, sunny wall-side borders and sheltered courtyards, its neat, compact habit also makes it an excellent choice for a large patio container that can be moved to a sheltered position over winter.
