Enjoy delicious, bite-sized fruit straight from the garden with Kiwi 'Bayern'! This vigorous female kiwi produces smooth-skinned, green fruits with a slight red tinge, which are smaller and sweeter than conventional kiwis and can be eaten whole, skin and all. The juicy fruits develop a sugary flavour and ripen from late September into October, providing a rewarding autumn harvest. In early summer, clusters of small white flowers appear among the attractive green foliage, adding ornamental interest before the fruit develops. As a vigorous deciduous climber, 'Bayern' also makes an impressive feature when trained over a pergola, arbour or sturdy support. This female variety requires a suitable male pollinator, such as Kiwi 'Weikii', to produce fruit. Ultimate height: 5m (16.4ft). Ultimate spread: 3m (9.8ft).
