Fritillaria crassifolia is a rarely available species from the rugged mountains of Turkey, Iran and Iraq. This exquisitely dainty, dwarf species is adapted to well drained, scree habitats, making it perfect for a rockery, alpine trough or raised bed. In spring, it bears pendulous, bell-shaped flowers flushed with soft green and marked with an intricate brownish-purple chequered pattern, often tipped with yellow. Narrow, silvery grey leaves complete its refined appearance. A truly special plant for collectors and alpine enthusiasts alike. Ultimate height: 15cm (6in). Ultimate spread: 5cm (2in).
