The Best Anonymous Valentine's Gifts to Give
Whether you love it or loathe it, there is no denying that Valentine's Day is fast approaching and with less than a month to find the perfect gift the pressure is certainly on. Although those with a loving other-half know (or can at least assume to know!) who their romantic present is from, Valentine's Day tradition dictates that for those of us who are single, the 14th February is the day to anonymously let the person you have a crush on know that someone is interested. You may even be brave enough to send an 'anonymous gift' that isn't actually so anonymous!
Though some may believe them to be a little old fashioned, flowers are an ideal anonymous gift for men to send to women on Valentine's Day. Generally speaking women love receiving flowers - they're bright, beautiful, cheerful and it's always wonderful to open the door and be greeted with a huge bouquet of blooms! If you're a traditionalist then there is no harm in sticking with long-stemmed red roses - a classic way to say 'I love you'. If, on the other hand, you'd like to do something a little bit different, talk to your florist about putting together something that is a tad more original, as they are sure to have lots of great ideas. Just remember to write a Valentine's message on a card to send with the flowers, signed off with the traditionally mysterious question mark and get your florist to deliver them to ensure your anonymity.
One of the problems that many people have with giving anonymous Valentine's Day gifts is the fact that ideally, they have to be something you can either get delivered or that you can send in the post - it wouldn't be a very anonymous gift if you gave it to them yourself now would it?! This means thinking small, but that's not a problem, as the best things come in small packages after all! As well as flowers, chocolates are another traditional Valentine's gift, but don't let that put you off. Chocolates are traditional because everyone likes them, so you're unlikely to go wrong with a box of delicious treats. If you know the person well you might even be aware that they have some favourites (truffles or dark chocolate, for example), so opting for those would naturally be a good idea.
Mix CDs also make a nice anonymous Valentine's Day gift, as they're easy to make, easy to post, not too over-the-top and also show that you have put some effort into the gift. If you are a die-hard romantic you could consider a CD of love songs, but any compilation that you feel confident your crush will like is fine. Thinking along the same lines, handmade cards are also a nice gesture. If you aren't already with the person then you want to avoid sending something over-the-top, so a hand-made card is a great way of saying you care. That being said, if you are seriously lacking in the creativity department then this might not be the best plan; instead buy a really nice card (not too soppy!) and make sure you write the perfect (anonymous) Valentine's message inside!
