Crinodendron Alf Robbins 9cm

The first Crinodendron to have white flowers, 'Alf Robbins' is a rare find, and you're unlikely to see it in many gardens, with pink and red flowering varieties being more usual, yet even those aren't common. Long slender leaves that are deep green and glossy give this bushy evergreen shrub an exotic look, even before the flowers have opened. Masses of long stemmed, creamy white blooms cover the plant from May until August, standing out in contrast against the foliage and giving it its more common name, the Lantern Tree. Crinodendrons are perfectly happy in UK gardens in sun or partial shade and prefer acidic soil, so if growing in a container add ericaceous compost and you plant with thrive, looking spectacular whether it's flowering or not! Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, reaching a height and spread of 2.5m in 10 years.
